Adventures with Hair Dye

Synthetic Culture tonight. shadowkat_69 is out for a meal with some work colleagues, so I foolisly thought "I'm a big boy now, surely I can manage to dye my own hair...". Well, I am sitting here letting it work at the moment - trying to be very still so that I don't end up covering the flat with it ( Read more... )

This made me laugh. I've added you as a friend (you do know me - I'm Penny with a why not an aye eee from Richmond College).

Try not to shake your head too much whilst rinsing. In my experience landlords tend to look a bit squizzle eyed when they notice the delightful black on lilac splatter effect with which you've accessorised their bathroom (girlfriends probably do too but I wouldn't know about that).

A good point. I think I've managed to get away without splashing anything porus, so I just need to take a scourer to the few stains I have left in the bathroom and it should be good as new.

Good to hear from you anyway. Happy New Year, I hope you are doing well!

Next time, stick some vaseline on your forehead and ears beforehand. It helps create a barrier between your skin and the dye.

Sadly the worst of it has gone and I didn't manage to take any photos. Sorry.

I always worry about the vaseline thing because I end up getting a lot of it on my hair, and a barrier between my hair and the dye would be a bit counter-productive, so I usually give it a miss.

The most comedy thing is that while tilting my head over to the left to do the right side of my head, I seem to have pulled muscles all down the right side of my neck, which has been paining me all weekend. Goddamn vanity related injuries!
