It's been a while but I am determined to continue with this.
I finally managed to get Riverview working on the laptop and have transferred the save game to that machine in the hopes of having it run smoother. Which is does. So YAY! This is also why some of the imagery for this update is my "standard" 5:4 Sims 3 pictures and partway through the image quality increases (I hope) and changes to 16:9. I kept the picture width at the usual 500 pixels so I hope the last batch of pictures is not too small for people.
Last we looked, Betty and Bob had a quickie marriage at The Gazebo and moved into a trailer.
Betty is steadily learning the guitar skill and her playing is so impresive that the residents glitch at the sound of her playing.
Bob is working on the next great Simlandian novel. He managed to smuggle his laptop from his parents' house so at least they had that little bit of a head start and he could begin writing again right away.
Betty is absolutely stoked with her wedding ring and keeps looking at it with a goofy look on her face.
Let the making of Brandi begin!
Betty: Oh, Bob! That was absolutely amazing! I swear I heard music!
She did. I did, too. The Brandi bun is in the oven XD
I had a brain fart and gave her a makeover identical to how she started out as a teen. I left her like this for a while then later amended the situation.
They had enough money to buy an easel for Bob.
And they'd managed to steal enough produce from Bob's parents' garden to start a small vege patch of their own.
With Betty at work, Bob went back to The Gazebo to try to get his creative juices flowing.
Betty's not feeling so hot.
To make herself feel better, she went off to hang out with Bob at The Gazebo.
engram_au : No, she's doesn't have the Loch Ness monster in there. Nor is it the monster from Alien, despite it looking like the little tacker is trying to tear it's way out of the mother's abdomen in the latter stages of pregnancy.
Reading a pregnancy book.
This time around licking the plates does not make them disappear. But I was perversely happy to see this action is still around.
Announcing the pregnancy mini spam.
/mini spam.
Not quite barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen but close enough. She's looking either over-enthusiastic or super frustrated to be plunging that toilet.
They don't have anything of value to steal. And Bob's laptop is in his pocket.
The burglary is thwarted by the long arm of the law.
Ah, that's better! Barefoot and pregnant, in the kitchen XD
Gotta make sure it's a girl!
Betty gets the accusatory glaring out of the way early.
Aren't women supposed to scream "you did this to me! I will make you pay!" around about the time of birth? I dunno. I didn't. I recited children's poems in Russian with the obstetrician...
EEEE!!! HERE COMES BRANDI!!!
This was super cute. Vadim (Betty's father for those who don't remember) came to the hospital and then immediately got on the phone talking about baby-related stuff. I know that he's in the medical career track and was probably on his way to work but it really looked like he came to the hospital to be with his daughter <3
It's a girl!
As if there was any doubt :)
No idea why I took this photo. But it's as good as any to be the filler between Brandi's birth and her first birthday.
Brandi: *head sparkles*
Not quite as good as *sparkle butt* but it will do.
Ummm... She's got potential?
Potential for what, though?
And the hair colour is wrong.
Her PJs are really cute, though :)
She's also slowly growing on me.
This is as cute as the potty training faces get. I miss the TS2 potty training faces.
Learning to walk.
Learning to talk.
More learning to walk because I forgot that I had taken the other picture.
I finally gave Betty another makeover, bringing her look more in line with how she looked in the original Sims game.
I also finally gave Brandi black hair.
Bob the Slob upgrades the new toilet to be self-cleaning so it can withstand having him around the house.
Father-daughter synchronised skilling.
Birthday time!
One last look at Brandi as a toddler.
She learned all the toddler skills and read most of the toddler books. They couldn't afford to buy all of them, unfortunately :(
Brandi as a child.
Egads! That's what the game put her in for her everyday clothes.
A bit better. Like a fine wine, she's getting better with age :)
