I know it's been a while but do rest assured that I have no plans to abandon this family.
I am playing this through to the bitter end.
The Newbie house. Scenic, yes?
Those of you who are actually following along with the "story" might remember that Brandi aged to child last time.
So I sent her across the road to say howdeedoo.
Brandi: Hi, Mr Broke! I heard Skip was home. Is Skip home?
Of course Skip was home! Doing his homework.
Skip: This makes my brain hurt :(
The fated introduction was made soon enough <3
Skip: Welcome. We may be called Broke by name and live in a bunch of trailers, but we have almost 100K in cash stashed away. One day, when I move out to my own place, I'm going to get a nice chunk of that.
Brandi: I... think I hear the psychic curfew police circling. BYE!
I know that this is not a legacy but I couldn't help it! What's a childhood without a toy oven and having your first muffin documented?
It's not a real childhood unless you get your very own muffin-baking pic!!!
I had a rather huag break in playing and was afraid that I hadn't taken any pictures of Bob in quite a while. So here he is. Gardening.
Go Bob, illustrious author! He still doesn't have a job. But the books are a pretty good money-spinner.
Please to be ignoring my total epic fail at book naming. The first 3 are sci-fi, the last 2 are fantasy.
Everyone got the wish to congratulate Don Lothario on his wedding.
Anyone know how to congratulate someone on their wedding???
This is the second time Bob and Betty spun up the wish to congratulate someone and I still haven't figured it out.
This is the lucky Lothario bride, BTW. I suck at taking notes (I actually never take any unless I need to enumerate someone's stats) so I didn't write down her first name.
Bob and Betty. Still in love <3 <3 <3 <3
engram_au - breaking EAxis canon and moulds since 2000!
Yes, Betty is pregnant. Because I said so. I don't care that Brandi's not supposed to have siblings.
EAxis broke their own town time line with this one so I'm making things up as I go along, too.
Statistics time!
Brandi Newbie: Artistic, Good and Family Oriented. LW = max writing and painting skills.
I decided that those would be the Newbie characteristics to be passed on to both kids. Both Betty and Bob are Good, so this one is a must. Bob is Family Oriented and Brandi is supposed to be a Family sim according to Sims 2. And Betty is Artistic. I don't think I could assign any of her other traits so it had to be that one. So there is no real reason behind it other than "I had to".
Brandi: The learnings... they are harrrrd!
In other news: Sims 3 children come with a bicycle installed in their rectum. I definitely didn't buy that for her and she pulled it out of her butt, so...
I totally missed Bob's thought bubble and now I can't quite make out what it was. But it was something wholly inappropriate to accompany his wife figuring out she's pregnant again.
See???? The Brokes are loaded!
Since Betty is going to be at home for the foreseeable future (I kind of dislike the enforced maternity leave. I know people complained about the carpool showing up 5 minutes after a sim gave birth in Sims 2 but the enforced 6 or 8 or however many days off are a bit much), she takes over gardening duties. She planted a bunch of unknown "uncommon" seeds. I still don't know what they're going to grow into, but 3 of them are trees.
Since Betty is Unlucky, I figure she's indestructible so she gets to fix the electronics around the house.
I'd hate to lose her but I want to see Grimmy refuse to take a sim because they've had a sucky unlucky life, too.
So poor Betty here gets to play with electricity.
She didn't get zapped.
Birth time!
Bob, the extraordinarily supportive husband tucks himself into bed the moment Betty heads for the hospital.
Bob: She's got it covered. Her dad's one of the docs.
engram_au : get your butt to the maternity ward!!!
I must have harangued him through the screen into it.
You know I had to...
If you think my naming schemes are bad this time around, just wait 'til you get a load of the names I have planned for the S2S NLC3. I have a list! And it is genuinely groan-worthy. There's going to be facepalming all over the place with that one XD I may not be all organised and have built a hood but I have all the kids names picked out, right down to generation 10.
Welcome home, Brandon!
The house got an upgrade with Bob's book royalties coming in on Sunday. But there are only 2 bedrooms upstairs. So Brandon gets a crib in the dining room. They autonomously get up to feed hungry babies, anyway, so there is no need for the kid to be in the same room as the parents. Or at least Bob and Betty autonomously get up to feed THIS kid.
Even the game agrees that these two are meant to be together.
Of course it doesn't hurt that Skip is the only child-aged sim Brandi knows.
What? No green fumes coming from Brandon's nether regions???
Family Oriented simming - you're doing it rite, Bob Newbie :)
I made Bob get a job in the journalism career. With Betty at home and not getting promotions they needed another source of income. Bob quickly got a couple of promotions and the Newbies now have a maid who dreams of travel and adventure.
And love. Preferably while traveling and adventuring.
BIRTHDAY TIME!!!
Brandi: YES! I can finally be a teen and do at least some of the stuff the maid is only dreaming of!
*Sparkle Spin*
Teen!Brandi
Her outfit was extremely inappropriate and mismatched. However, her favourite food happens to be hamburgers so I guess the t-shirt is right on the money?
Bob needed to write an article to get the next promotion so I sent him to riffle through the Brokes' bin. Maybe he could figure out how they made all their money.
It helps that the Brokes seem to be a rather oblivious bunch and Ruby totally managed to miss the rummaging-in-the-bin episode despite being outside. Maybe the bush helped to hide Bob or something.
Obligatory makeover pic #1
Obligatory makeover pic #2
Why yes, she IS wearing the typical Brandi outfit from Sims 2!
I sent her across the road to try and witness Skip's birthday but he didn't age up before she had to escape the psychic curfew police and go home.
I am not cruel so you actually get to see what everyone looks like after their birthdays.
Skip decides on an explorer outfit with zebra stripe loafers. EWWWW!
So he gets a makeover.
Those eyebrows make me worry for Dustin, Beau and kid #3.
And this is Brandon.
Brandon: HOSHIT! I grew up into an outfit that has the same pattern on it as my sister's dress. MUM!!! Did you make Brandi's dress into a t-shirt for me???
Betty: Hush, child! I had no choice. Your father is a crappy journalist/part time writer and I'm on semi-permanent maternity leave. When we manage to get Brandi married into the rich Broke family we'll be able to afford to buy you your own clothes.
See you next time!
