I've been keeping this blog since 2003 and much of what I've written was originally posted publicly. I've come to a point in my life, though, where it seems more prudent to at the very least keep things behind a basic filter. Partly this is to protect myself, but mostly it is to stop the ridiculous volume of spam comments I kept having to delete
