Also, I feel like I must have seen a different movie from the rest of fandom, because I thought the characterization was all around great.

I'm glad you enjoyed it so much! I went in hoping I would love it and I can def say I love parts of it. But I also need to re-watch. I thought some parts worked well, some parts not so much.

I enjoyed it as well! There were just a few things that were "HUH?!?!" inducing but other than that, much flailing was had. I'm definitely going to see it again - maybe tomorrow after I run amuck at Free Comic Book Day at my local comics shop (for once I was able to get a Saturday off). =D

I have a TON of thoughts on Natasha's characterisation and I was beginning to think i'd made them up, but nope, rewatched the film and there it was, characterisation. Looking forward to your thinky thoughts!

I'm so glad there's someone enthusiastic about this. I just read a bunch of negative responses, including a whole range of "how is anyone sane okay with this thing" responses, and I'm feeling a bit raw.

I enjoyed it. It's not the movie I wanted, but I long ago realised that if fandom can't even give me the stories I want, I have sweet fuck-all chance of getting the stories I want from white, male moviemakers making comics-based stories in Hollywood.

The worst part of the movie for me so far has been fandom.
