He makes a deal with the spider-demon to pay off his drunken uncle's debts. In return for the power to win the great tournament, he must become an earthly vessel for the spider-demon. But he gets caught up in the thrill of victory and misses the opportunity to save his uncle from impatient debt collectors. He is now sole protector of his wise old aunt. The spider-demon's power is a weapon for good, but he may not be able to keep from being consumed by it.

Anyway...that's my idea...
