Wow, I am totally impressed by this workshop so far. The keynote speaker this evening was amazing, the info packs are full of what looks like solid, fascinating, and practical information about navigating an academic career, the people are interesting, and the food is good

I've never had good luck with automatic ticket machines in metros. Especially in NYC.

I didn't realize you were going to DC... or I just forgot. You'd like Dupont Circle and Adams Morgan, which is home to a great little place called "Madam's Organ," a fun bar.
