That's a novel idea. I've got a picture/result that I've been showing at conferences for about a year. I have no idea how I got that result and can't reproduce it. In fact, all I have is the picture, the actual result is long deleted. I've started using svn (Subversion) for everything. All my projects are subversion archives stored on a portable harddrive that I can plug into any machine that I use and checkout the current state, or an older state if need be. My notebook then refers to which revision the notes are for. I also have an automatic incremental backup of the portable harddrive everytime the drive is plugged into my office computer.
