Whether or not folks like the fact we're at war, we are.

However,
As has been mentioned at great lengths by some..

There is no reason what-so-ever for our troops to be degraded.

More so,
If anything,
U.S. civilians have the duty of supporting the Men and Women of the U.S. Forces ( Read more... )

think of the last war where american troops were degraded (and ended up coming home as enemies instead of heros)... think of what a mistake that war was.. how some of the people america was fighting 'for' didn't want the troops there at all.. remember the outcome of that war.. remember the utterly stupid reasons for the start of that war.

'n the only duty american citizens have towards their military is to pay their taxes.. anything else falls above and beyond the call for stupidity.

you said "Whether or not folks like the fact we're at war, we are."
so those who don't like it should help out? bushwah.. duty is something best kept in the military and away from civilians.. it's called freedom and rights.. things that america's supposed to be big on.

whatever to the rest.. i'm sure being brought up veterans is what's set your point of view on all this.. and i'll leave that at that..

how you know i hate all worldly governments is beyond me, i don't know a single thing about almost all of said governments.. you're right on the especially america though.. few people like a bully, a hypocrite, or a nosey bastard.

you don't help a country by blowing up selected parts of it.

So ... are you saying that if you oppose the actions that atrax_narcissus March 23 2003, 12:28:18 UTC
the leaders choose, it's OK to take it out on the workers?

So if say ... a grade school teacher was leading her class in an excercise to learn to walk like a duck & you didn't like ducks, it would be ok to shoot the children instead of approaching the teacher? Or if you worked for an office where the boss decided to raise the prices, it would be ok for a client to come in & attack YOU for it?

If you don't like the gov't & actions, fine ... protest ... people have died for the right for you to do so ... take it up with the GOV'T, not the soldiers! Yes, they ARE responsible for their own conduct under highly stressful situations & if they violate that ... that's something different. But if you are mad at them simply becase they are doing what they are told, then I have a problem with that.
