For the montreality girl

I haven't posted in forever. Mostly because of the whole Big Brother thing, but also because my life is boring right now. I'm waiting, along with the girl, for more news from Immigration Quebec. If they decide to take the papers we sent, it should be fine. If they send another message in a few weeks, I'll have to go and kick some ass.

How did you know I wanted you to post? hehehe :)

Welcome back-ish!

Is your girl here in Montreal right now, or waiting in France? I hope she gets her immigration papers soon, it must be very frustrating to wait :-/ I thought it was easier for French citizens than for others, apparently not.

The girl is back in France for now. She was here in September though.
It is technically easier for the French peeps, but they are hassling us with the common-law thing. We are trying to get as many points as possible to aid in the process, and they keep asking for more papers... but not at the same time. Send all the papers, get a letter asking for an original, send it, get another letter asking for more, send those... and now we wait again.

Do you think it's discrimination against same-sex common-law partners?

I hope it gets resolved soon. Do you have any idea how long you have to wait this time?

I don't think it's discrimination, just bureaucracy.

Basically they need proof of the relationship, but because the whole thing wasn't something we were planning originally, we had to do extra. We didn't have the lease, phone bill, hydro etc. changed right away, so that wasn't something we could give as proof. So we did the whole letters from family, coworkers, and the managers of the building. Plus proof of her job, and our shared bank account etc.

Hopefully we'll have an answer by the end of the year from Quebec, and from what we can tell, once the Quebec one is done, the Canada one is pretty straightforward. Maybe by the summer?

Katy and I thought about you this weekend when we found a tin of bacon band-aids. How are things with you and Em? Email me. I haven't heard from you in a dogs age. Are you going to be in town around the 21-23 of December? Katy and I are going to be in town with her folks. It would do them good to be scared and scarred by all of us on a good night :)

I'll be here for Christmas, but the girl will be in France.
I'd love to scare K's parents, though as I remember our night at BarBBarn, I'm sure she scares them enough already. *bouncy bouncy*

Was the trip to France planned as spending holidays with the folks or is her visa running out again while the gov waits to pull the finger out? We're thinking of going to sushi on the 22nd (her birthday). You free?
