Dear God, that's depressing. It's so true and so bloody depressing.

On the other hand the money the government spends "trying to bring democracy" to the mouse country of origin would have easily covered the extra spending involved along with the money spent on games for the world to watch.

Plus although the individual case of that grasshopper went like that, thousands of other grasshoppers, and indeed cats, have gone on to become far more worthwhile citizens than many who started off in the country.

This comes across as very simialr to much of the BNPs propaganda, but they're more honest as to who it is aimed at.

Although there are good reasons as to why the UK shouldn't accept asylum seekers this doesn't cover them, it just suggests they are all bastards-which isn't helpful.

Not that I think that's where you were going with this but...

No, I was just feeling cynical with the world at large, and a friend emailed this story to me . . . and at the time of reading, it made sense.

Hope not to have offended!

Take care, say hi to Sarah

That's what I figured. I get like that too. No offence taken, and none meant.

I thought it was funny provided you didn't take it too seriously - I love the idea of cats trying to blow up airports because we like dogs (and fleeing their country because of a vicious mouse regime)! However the more serious aspect isn't so funny. It must be very hard to make any decisions about asylum seekers and dole people - how do you come up with hard and fast rules when the genuine cases don't make as much fuss, and the dodgy buggers do - you can't be kind as questions will be asked why 'a' got that and 'b' didn't.

The big question is: How did the grasshopper accidently kill a guinea pig? Surely this isn't possible!
