Man, I was thinking it was Kenneth at first. I really was. You know, just didn't wanna wear his seatbelt for a change. But no, when I read that line (that I have heard basically word for word so many times) I knew who it was. Now I'm all torn though. Which philosophy is worse, the kind of hippiness we harp on or fatalism?...probably fatalism...

Clearly fatalism is worse. Hippies at least somewhere beneath their hypocrisy (My theory is the word 'hippy' is derived from 'hypocrite') and laziness (pot and the like) actually want to make a difference in the world. Fatalists just want to float down the river of time until they hit a waterfall with sharp, jagged rocks at the bottom. Then they say, "Ah well, it was fate." Well of course, eventually you will hit a situation where laying back and accepting everything will get you killed. Good, more evidence to Darwin.
