Its strange, now that I take a step back it seems as though what I wrote (part 3) and the comments I got in response in certain places (I've posted this in a few) seem to say a lot of good stuff, but that stuff implies that I've said things that I certainly didn't mean to. I dunno, with the internet the way it is, I imagine anyone that wants to take Smash to the next level simply needs to go to the boards or watch You Tube videos.

I see what you're saying though.

But they wouldn't even know the next level exist unless they're shown. There are people who have been playing Tekken for years who have never even heard of a wavedash, and I'm sure there are loads of similar things with every other fighting games out there (Roll cancelling, Relaunch combos, etc etc). The scene isn't going to be saved by youtube, you and I both know it. The only way that it can get better, imo, is for companies to start releasing QUALITY GAMES that have more depth than the average gamer can easily pick up on. I mean, compare it to any other hobby. If just anyone could tweak cars, then no one would, because it would be ridiculous. You wouldn't see the occasional classic car, or hear some insane engine, because you'd already have one in your garage that didn't mean squat. There NEEDS to be a difficulty factor, because without it, the entire game becomes meaningless.
