just so you know, this dell has been wonderful. almost 3 years of faithful laptopness. that's more than any of your laptops can say.
this is a minor bump on the road. with the crappy treatment i've given it, it's only expected.

I hope it doesn't offend you to say that you were number two on my list of people allowed to mess with my computer.

i have cds right now. and in fact, that was something i was planning on doing this weekend... backing up music and pictures and other files worth backing up. but i also wanted to do this with another memory because i feel like this is a waste of cds.

as for this summer, there's a few things i'm hoping you and erin can help me fix with the 'puter.

i miss my dano :) glad to see you still read my journal even though you neve post.

when i first got my computer i didn't have any cds, or money to buy blank ones... so i never created the cds my computer asked to make. perhaps this summer is the time to do it?

i'm aware that part of the fault from the last time we fixed was my fault, but i'm glad this time around we have more experience. right now my main concern is saving the files i have.

i'm hoping reformatting won't be this much of an issue this time around. I hope it makes it to this summer...

BUY A MAC!!! I swear by them now. I know I know: "A mac? But aren't they like not as cool?"

No way buddy. You will never, ever get a virus and u dont even have to have virus protection on it. Its near impossible. AND, I bought mine a year ago and it is just as fast and everything as the day I turned it on, even though I have put a ton of pictures, music, and tv shows on it

Yes, they are expensive. But if you can save the money for one, think of it as not having to buy a new computer every 2-3 years. I'm betting this one lasts me 5.

hahaha i purposely didn't say anything to this comment because i was waiting for what you had to say.
i think with a computer it comes down to luck. my dell has been awesome, i just have never reformatted it and i think once i do that it'll run great again. i just need to back up my important files.
i don't doubt macs are great and that sometimes a few will come out extra crappy, but unfortunately the computer business is just a giant auction. if i just wait, in a few months a stronger, faster, bigger, awesomer, cheaper computer will hit the market. and as soon as i buy it, another stronger, faster, bigger, awesomer, new-and-improved, cheaper computer will take it's place.
I feel like this computer could easily last me another year if not two once i get it fixed. by then i'll give into the new awesomeness of new computers. i may or may not get a mac. i'll be eager to hear what megan has to say about them then :)
