You CAN. Well, the crappy tourist kind, which are the kind I prefer. There's a little plug on the bottom, and I went out and bought distilled water ESPECIALLY, because tap-water will sometimes make them scummy and strange. So now the Maid of the Mist can shuffle back and forth and the two little plastic alligators can see-saw in a completely liquid and air-bubble-free environment. Take THAT, evaporation!
