As soon as he'd seen other children on the playground, Ion had rushed down. His room was boring and Ryoji/Pharos was confusing and he couldn't find Selh'teus or Celena, so he went to playground. They'd come there eventually if they were still in Enlever Town, right?

He ducked under the slide and headed for the monkey bars, where he climbed to the top and looked at the other kids carefully. No Selh'teus. No Celena. No Pharos. They were people he didn't recognize, or half-recognized from when he'd been bigger. But none of them were his friends, and that made him feel a little lonely.

Aerith slowed her swinging as she curiously watched the boy duck and weave through the playground. Her eyes widened as she watched him climb to the top of the monkey bars. That was so far up! He was so brave to go up there by himself!

"Be careful!" she called. "Don't fall, okay?"

He smiled at her before he could stop himself, and waved a little. "I won't! Don't worry!" He called back. He sat down on one of the wide bars on the side, and gripped two of the monkey bars to keep from falling.

His smile widened. He liked being way up here above everyone else; it made him feel big again.

Aerith jumped off her swing and ran over to the monkey bars, looking up at him with wide eyes. "You are so brave," she informed him. "Aren't you scared at all up there?"
