So everything started well, the doctor is only 20 minutes late, he reads the paperwork, I give my left arm, don’t feel a thing and done! Hurrah! Except that he then looks at me and says “ I am so sorry ... [long awkward pause]... There was one more...”. Hadn't I been so exhausted I would have said something, I just could not believe it... He probably reused the same needle to do the second blood test... o_O

No I think it was just mine, I was to tired to really tell but it definitely came back from his little cardboard bin!

You can get a HIV test from your GP. In confidence.

I'm getting one due to my 18-21 patch, and how I was a bit, erm, wild. I'm pretty sure I would have noticed if my immune system had stopped working over the fast few years, but even so. Just part of my blood MOT. I get diabetes regularly due to medication stuff.

I don't want to panic you, but it takes 3 months last I heard to 'show' on a test. Take the test too soon and... But go to the GP anyway, just in case I've remembered incorrectly.

Always best to play safe with blood :)

That's horrible - but yet there's some great comedy potential in situations like this. I went through a similar experience at a blood doning session a couple of years ago and I didn't enjoy it at all at the time, but looking back now, I keep thinking it was like a scene from an early Peter Jackson movie!

Yeah I should suggest it to ER, it would look great and potentially hilarious, especially if does not happen on me whilst already bleeding! ^^'
Well you'll give me the name of that Brain Dead like doctor so I make sure to stay miles away from him!
