Wow! That's awesome! How did you get involved with that? Did you get to be on stage while they were playing? Is there music any better than it was 5 years ago? Their first album was alright I remember...

by the way, l.l. and bezuhov, this stuff is on the down low until the article comes out. i was kind of sworn to secrecy about my being there and their presence, etc., etc. i'm not really sure why, but maybe to fend off the groupies and keep them guessing as to his whereabouts.

it was actually a photo session off stage. i took pictures of them and hung out with them for about 2 hours. we were at a local recording studio for youngsters that they've been giving money to. dave and i had a chat about the new pope and he told me about this funky transgender she-man that he always sees running around Greenlake in seattle. they said they were going to be moving back out to charlottesville. weird. they all drove really dorky cars. dave in a toyota station wagon. it must've been his mom's. i got the call through dave's publicist who called the paper looking for someone in town to photograph them at this youth recording studio, but in actuality the whole thing morphed into something more. it worked out well for me. i'm hoping it'll give me the connections and credibility to launch me into the next level of assignments and pay. welcome back from brasil. your pad looked like a james bond set or something. geez. your repetitive lifestyle sounds brilliant. i want to hear more soon.

i love the repetitive lifestyle as long as involves floating and drinking.

that's so strange that you're hanging out with dave matthews. i didn't know he was from charlottesville. do you think you'll do more shoots for them in the future?

simultaneously floating and drinking, i hope?
taking more photos for those guys doesn't seem too unlikely if they're planning on moving back here soon. but who knows. some of it depends on how much they like the shots i got from this session. but it doesn't care. what would be funnier is if i could become friends with him when he moves back and really just hang out with him at his farm. cruise around in his white station wagon.

the funny thing was, by the way, that i set out to give myself a haircut earlier in the day, only to have my clippers totally die on me halfway through. so i went to kmart with my head half-shaved. it was super hot. i really really really should've taken a self-portrait in the kmart parking lot. damn. i just thought of that. too late.

i went to kmart, by the way, to buy some new hair clippers, but got them home only to find that they didn't work. stoopid. so then i had to race out and get my head fixed at a salon before the shoot started. maybe it would've been great to have shown up at the shoot with that hairdo. the pics aren't the best- the place was a lighting nightmare, but they're not too bad, and there are a couple of really solid ones. of course now that it's over i've thought of a million things i would do differently if i could do it again. maybe after their next album release.
