Back from the Mojave Desert and I am shoving all other responsibilities and deadlines aside and working eagerly on the desert photos so I can submit them by Monday. Love the pictures, Jimmy. Have you ever been to the Slabs or Salton Sea? I've been interested in it lately and I have a documentary coming from Netflix soon. Your comment about salvage/Mad Max made me think of it. The California desert seems to breed such a weird culture. I kinda want to retire as a crazy old lady in an airstream trailer in the desert...or at least be a snowbird!

Thanks! I wanted to go to the Salton Sea- it is supposedly a big-time geothermal energy site- but I just didn't have the time. As it was, I drove 2000 miles over those 4.5 days. But there were so many weird and fascinating spectacles along the roadways that I could've driven 3000 and not minded. I think an airstream is nice, but why bother when there are so many abandoned houses, gas stations, and hotels all ripe for the picking? As far as your other option, snowbird, that's nice too, but I would choose river otter. Happy to hear about your big vacation and new job. The best of both worlds!
