It really is gorgeous. One can usually see bighorn sheep wandering across the cliff on the other side. Of course cougars love to dine on mutton, so that's always a concern when out there. When approaching this canyon, the trail follows a verdant, sprawling meadow, rolling along with mountains on both sides. Then suddenly the meadow just drops away, and you're on the edge of Threepoint Canyon. Always a treat.
Yup. Wildlife is one of the reasons I like to ride. One day last year I was huffing and puffing up a hill on the edge of K-country. And there in the middle of the trail stood a very large bull, staring intently at me. Now this wasn't a typical Alberta bull. It was a Longhorn.. like from Texas! wtf?! His horns were huuuge, and went way out to either side before curving briefly skyward. I pictured my bloodied form draped across them as he crashed through the forest, knocking down trees and tearing up dirt. That didn't happen luckily. We just stared at each other for an uncomfortable period of time, until I decided that acting demure might be to my benefit. So I turned my gaze downward, in deference to his obvious size advantage. This pleased him, and he snorted and wandered away.
I don't know if bulls qualify as 'wildlife' or not, but it was exciting nonetheless.
That is an amazing photograph. Now, don't take this the wrong way... it would probably be just a boring little scenery photo (well shot, however) except for the fact that your bike is in the upper left hand corner! I don't think it would matter who's bike it was, that would still make it a neat photo. Accompanied by the little essay makes it extra cool in my opinion.

And that is a stunning photograph. Is that your bike on the edge of the cliff?
