Hard Drive Kaput, Everything lost. Oh noes, it couldn't happen to me, oh no, so did I back anything up? Naw. Fortunately I've posted pretty much everything I've ever written, but the pics? (some of the old Theban Band ones) and the icons, ah, crap. Gone. What an idiot.

I can't imagine how devastating that must feel. I've lost my HD before, but managed to have most everything backed up on a flash drive.

I have Erestor's quilt saved - need that? ^.^

Dummy! En is a big dummy, to borrow a phrase from a friend...Ah well. As I told Min & Kei, maybe it was time to "clean house" anyway. Fortunately, I think most things are still "findable" somewhere and Kei gave me a link to the Theban Band pics. I'll survive. After all, it's really a pretty small thing compared to what *ahem* other people have to deal with day to day.

& Hell. Maybe a new HD without all of that 5 yrs. of built up gunk will perform better. A fresh start. I'll deal. But shit anyway.

Awww, thanks, Elfy. I think most of what I had is "findable" again and as I told Kei, etc., maybe all in all it's not such a bad thing. "Cleaning House" as it were. I'll sure as hell be more careful next time.

Yikes, I'm sorry to hear that, sweets. I invested in an external drive just in time before my old laptop's battery/power cord went wonky on me. The good thing about the internet is that once something is put on it, it'll never really go away. Hope you get most of your pics back!

Oh yes, thank God. Most of the writing is posted somewhere and I think I pretty much can recreate many of my pic files if I really want to. Stupid as it was, maybe it was time to "clean house" anyway. I'll surely not make this mistake again, though.
