i'm disappointed and a bit angry that NBC Channel 4
pulled The Book of Daniel, a show that has come under fire
from none other than our beloved American Family Association.
the AFA perhaps first gained notoriety due to its strident
boycott of the series NYPD Blue a few years back.

do you have a copy of that matthew video? i followed your link and it sounds really interesting. it would be cool to check out sometime, i think...a hell of a lot more true to the spirit than the passion, in my opinion. and i'd tend to trust it more for that precise reason, actually--it's NOT an epic blockbuster that made gazillions. as is so often the case, a lower-budget, word-of-mouth movie appears superior to its multimillion-dollar-hyped cousin...

we do, actually.

it's fascinating to me that the "script" for the Matthew videos is just the word-for-word NIV translation, but that the person who plays Jesus makes him so personal, so loving, whimsical and tangible, despite the language being a bit formalized.

much, much more accessible to me than the constantly "serene" Jesus as depicted in the Passion or other movies of that sort.
