Conundrum

I just started a new class.  This one is preventive conservation.  I'll learn how to care for objects and reduce and manage the unavoidable deterioration of them.  It'll be a great class, and I think it will help a lot when I'm designing exhibits, because I'll have at least a little bit of ammo when I have to do battle with the conservator who ( Read more... )

Heya. I read your post and thought a lot about my own studies. I've been researching literature for so long now that it's hard to enjoy reading, for all of the reasons you've recited above. This sentence is too clunky. That sentence has grammatical errors. Does this author really think this is a plot? While I'm in school, I can't always get lost in the magic of books, which is the reason I study them (well, one of the reasons), and the reason I want to teach people about literature (well, one of reasons). The GOOD NEWS is that the hyper attention to the mechanicall-y and technicall-y details faded away a bit once I was done with school. It's my own special conundrum because (right now) I need the focus to write my thesis, but... It IS awfully nice to read novels for fun again ( ... )
