Hey I just read your post. In the US by law, the agency must provide you with all non-id info, non-id varies by state but because Holt is in the US they have to provide the info to you.

It is none of their business as to why you want it. The anxiety is them safeguarding their business. If you had a happy wonderful life there is nothing for them to worry about, if you had troubles they want to know so you don't go spreading the word about a terrible adoption experience through Holt. I've heard this same story from more than one Holt adoptee.:(

I hope you get your info.

I don't mean to be harsh but if you are always asking for what you don't have, you'll probably never have what you want. It's okay for you to look, but to be honest since I met you, you have been brilliant, seemingly successful in most everything you do, but never seem to have any sort of geniune satisfaction in what you succeed in. What will be the end result, what will be the plan, and if you find what you want, will you be happy at your success? Will it only cause you to want more and be ever more distressed that you never seem to find the end?

Had not visited your blog in a while. Just wanted to let you know that there is a wonderful story by Tash Aw called "To the City" about adoption. You might want to check out the latest issue of Granta--100--that published it, or I could sent it to you if you give me an address to send it to. You can contact me offline if you wish at basbleu@sunflower.com or kate.gannon@gmail.com

Thank you! I have not visited my blog in a long while, either. :) Thank you for the story suggestion. If you could send it to me, I would be most grateful. Thanks again! I will contact you about it via email...
