"Nobody for President"

I consider myself a politically-challenged and apathetic individual, quite simply for the reason that I have no faith in politics and never had.

Imagine my surprise when, as I was driving home from work two nights ago, I saw a large banner stretched across the highway that read:

"NOBODY FOR PRESIDENT".

I agree with Nobody For President; I think direct, decentralized democracy with a strong backing of human rights (the right of everyone to food, healthcare, education, water, shelter, a clean environment, living wages) is a better solution than career politicians, and even Ghandis. As it is, there simply is no democracy in the US.

If only everyone were for human rights. Will that day never come? As a cynical idealist, I think not.

It is not a matter of everyone, of course, but just a majority of people. It could happen, so I think it is worth trying for.
