Well, the dust sure worked, thoguht Jane. Does this mean I have to buy a castle and start assaulting sleeping maidens? Anyway, off to the beach!
She walked through the parking lot, overhearing policemen discussing some kind of guresome murder.
When she climbed down the stairs, she was accosted by a Hispanic woman.
“Up those stairs.”
Jane blinked. “What?”
“The men who you are looking for.”
Jane frowned. “Ookay...” She edged away slowly from the obviously crazy person.
She climbed up the very steep stairs. A shirtless man with a huge baseball bat was standing in front of an old wooden fence. Jane had no idea what to do. She decided to try the direct approach.
“I’m here for the Astrolite.”
“You? Scram, kid, before I get serious.”
“Do you want to do business or not?”
“Heh. Whatever. I feel like bashing something in anyway. You get in that house and try starting a mess.”
“Ookay. Bye!”
With that, Jane sprinted past him before he could change his mind.
She opened the back door and entered. Peeking to the right, she saw a room where thugs were playing cards. She decided to go left. She opened the door there and a man with afro in white jacket scowled at her.
“Who are you?”
“I’m here for Astrolite.”
“Man, Mercurio isn’t really worth shit. Now he sends little girls to do his work?”
“Mercurio who?”
“Hm. Okay. Let’s see you know what the shit you’re talking about. 250 bucks up front.”
I don’t have that kind of money.
Not knowing what to do, Jane pulled out a knife and sliced. She moved faster than she thought.
The man pulled out a gun out of his jacket and filled her full of bullets.
And then, Jane blanked out. And something else rose.
It leapt at the man, going straight for the jugular. It sucked until the last capillary ran dry.
Jane came to a dry husk and taste of blood in her mouth. My god, what have I done?
She heard shouts asking “Dennis” if everything was all right. And a patter of feet growing closer. She look around and spotted the package that had “Astrolite” written on it. She grabbed it and leapt for the window, not stopping running until she reached the parking lot.
Once she reached main street, she arranged the package so it covered the bloodstains on her dress and the label was invisible, wiped her mouth, and tried to be as inconspicuous as possible sneaking to Mercurio’s apartment.
Author’s note: Yeah, I know in-game frenzy happens when one is low on blood. That’s because they had to balance the PC game. In theory, frenzy happens whenever vampire feels enough stress. And in this case, Jane feels cornered. She isn’t quite aware of her vampiric abilities yet. She still thinks of herself as that wimpy girl.
