Oh, god, I can SO relate!! I went through a period like that for 3 years. I was in grad school, temping full time and doing that thing where they want you for 3 weeks but you finished the project so they let you go Friday afternoon at 4 and you have to scramble to find something again by Monday. It totally, totally SUCKS. And all the BS about "you can get a job if you try", wow, you put it better than I ever could. I would interview and they would say they would "let me know for sure one way or the other by Tuesday" and of course I would never hear anything on any Tuesday ever again. It's NOT because you're not trying hard enough. It's because most of the people out there are fucking insensitive jerks who will whine about how they can't find any qualified workers but that's because to have an employee they have to actually go ahead and HIRE SOMEBODY. Duh
