A president doesn't really have THAT much to do with civil rights. Most of those things are determined at a statewide level by the voters.

Anna, while I understand your sentiments about voting, I also cannot agree with them.

I have issues that are very, very important to me. Many of them lie on both sides of the political line. Some are considered "conservative" and some are considered "liberal."

I've been following this election, via news sites, blogs, newspapers, and friends' opinions for quite some time now. And I've been following both sides of the election. I've been reading multiple opinions on both candidates and their running mates--all of which, oddly enough, are always written as though the person knows the candidate, which I find interesting and a bit foolish.

I agree that this election is historic in many ways, but I do not feel that it's life-shattering. But that is only my opinion, which I realise is in the minority.

But what I have to make clear to you is that my indecisions about voting are NOT because I'm not informed. They are because I AM informed. And I know that voting for ONE issue, as you say above, is irresponsible. Voting just ( ... )
