I recommend the bay area for your collegy needs. I'll take care of you if you come here! I'll make sure you don't fall into my own habits of debauchery. I'd even recommend Mills, but it does hamper the "boyfriend" goal a bit, being all women and everything.
You'll need to take the SAT and possibly get a GED. Smack me if you know this already, but they're necessary, even, and particularly, for kids who are officially homeschooled like you and me.
Also, being politically aware is overrated. I compensate by knowing a prodigious amount about historical politics and telling people, when they ask, that I make a rule not to know or care about anything more recent than 1945 because it's all too depressing. It's a good tagline. But really! Politics. Fucking depressing. Your time is better spent on books.
Hee, yeah, it's all going to happen. Once everyone recovers from the holidays, that is On The List. "Get Ariel Ready For College". I am using many capital letters.
I'm seriously considering the west coast. Possibly a school near LA or the Bay area (knowing someone = very good); supposedly the state school(s?) there are very good, too.
As for politics, you're probably right, but I need some sort of knowledge in my head. Perhaps it'll be history. A vague, blank stare and a sheepish, "Uh, yeahh.." won't really cut it when I am around intelligent, important people I want to impress!
"Have you seen X movie?" "Oh, yeah, not all the way through though."
"Do you know about B band?" "Yeah, but I had a friend who listened to them all. the. time and I eventually just blocked it all out."
Overall, I'm a terrible liar, but sometimes you just need to learn. :P Especially when your subject of expertise is Subeta or beading or what good YA books there are.
