Scraping a wayward strand of hair that had escaped from its ponytail behind her ear, she reattached the control panel to the no-longer-faulty terminal and patted it affectionately, checking it was back in working order - ideally there'd be no more trouble

The corridor was long and empty, and he didn't much feel like looking up. The deck was quite interesting enough for his purposes, and it wasn't as if he was going to -

"Sorry," he gasped, blinking up at a young ensign completely unfamiliar to him. "Wasn't looking where I was going. You okay?"

Fine way to make a first impression...
"Oh, I'm fine, I'm sorry - it was my fault," she stammered, rubbing her arm where she'd battered it against the wall. She'd been completely in a world of her own - daydreaming about hot showers will do that to a person. "I can't seem to walk in a straight line."
