Post-holiday workout

Jamie and I happily agreed to watch our friends' house so they could head out to Hawaii for Christmas and New Year's.  And everything was great - they have a sweet old dog and a very powerful wood-burning stove.  But the day after Christmas I got a gruff call from the harbormaster:

"I need Sean."
I simply replied,"You can't have Sean; he's in Hawaii ( Read more... )

Oh no! What a good friend you are rushing to the rescue. Poor boat! That sounds like it was absolutely backbreaking. *hugs* the boat's okay now, right? What did you friend say when he found out?

Thanks for the hug...it was passed along to Sean. Sarah (his wife) spent a day talking him down from the "I killed my boat" ledge. But the boat is afloat and running. There's no power, but the insurance should cover a new system. She'll live to sail another day =+)

Above and beyond the crazy amount of work that sounds like - it also sounds absolutely *FREEZING* cold. I'm shivering in sympathy. Good on you for saving the ship. And on Tim for the pumping. Always good to know you've good neighbors and friends.

Who knew there appears to be a subset of YouTube users that post sinking ship videos. Learn something new every day...
