"I serve the Bene Gesserit," says Murbella, curtly. "I am their commander. I am also a human, and have choices. You are an automaton, and automata are made to serve, even those whose masters may have passed away. Whose creature, then, are you?"
"I am... unaware of who... this 'Bene Gesserit' is," Quote replies, tilting his head ever so slightly. His eyes were fixed on Murbella's, attempting to get some sort of read into the unusual color.
"I was... not made to serve. I was... made to... destroy a dangerous artifact... to avoid it... being used again. Therefore... I have... no master to serve. I am... free... to do as I wish... now that my mission is complete."
Hawke stood gazing up at the green decoration hanging from the ceiling above her head. It was certainly something that had been deliberately placed rather than, say, the jungle habitat expanding to take over the entire ship. But why? A local holiday of some kind? Someone with a mania for prettying up the endless grey corridors?
Which, the kiss or the decorations?surfacesoldierDecember 26 2011, 17:01:38 UTC
Hawke is easily spotted, as is the mistletoe she's under. Quote trots over, hopping up and engaging his booster for the split section to let him hover at Hawke's eye level, planting a quick kiss on her cheek before dropping back to the ground.
Quote isn't the only one wholly uninformed of human holidays and traditions. After all, Eridan here isn't human either, nor has he really had the benefit of spending any time at all with humans. So he is just a bit distracted by all the lights and such some of the hippies have put up. They're very pretty, but he has no idea what they're for.
Quote seems fairly content with his 'outfit,' or at least thinks it's cute -- he's still adjusting his lights every so often if they slip or move. He clearly wants to look as pretty as he can, since that seems to be the point.
Eridan catches his eyes quite quickly, however, and Quote stops, turning to look over the troll scrutinizingly. His head is tilted ever so slightly in curiosity, making a soft noise.
/is so. slow. damn holidays.wwrathofangelsDecember 29 2011, 02:07:41 UTC
That soft sound startles him, although he mostly manages to not show his surprise. He does, at any rate, end up staring at Quote, brows furrowed as he takes the robot in. "Wwho the fuck are you an' wwhat are you lookin' at?" Yeah, he's oh so polite about being stared at, never mind he is very obviously not human on a ship of mostly humans.

"My name... is Quote... and I.. am looking... at you."
A completely monotone, logical answer to what he had assumed was a serious question. That was Quote all right. Still, he does notice the irritance, even if he's not entirely sure why Eridan is angry -- might as well do damage control, or attempt to.
"You... are not human. I have... not seen... many others... that were... something... other than... human here. I was... curious, especially... with how... unique you appear."
It's a compliment, of course, though whether or not Eridan can figure it out as such...

"An automaton, in festive guise. Whom do you serve?"

Quote eyes her carefully, mild curiosity unseen on the blank face. He doesn't remember meeting this one before.
"Who.. is it that... you serve?"
Information given requires information paid, after all.

He tilts his head, almost as if expecting Hawke to return the kiss. He was technically under it with her...
