Whee! Thanks so much for this tasty goodness. I laughed out loud in so many spots...but this one was my favorite:

the celibate neighbour, fondling his guns instead of fondling somebody else

The bum theme also works well for me.

Oh, I *loved* this story. I really liked your Malcolm in this one. He felt very in character, at least as I see this character. I like his biting, self-effacing humour.

And so much fun to read about his "nearly but not quite somethin' somethin' " with Trip, and then his "oh boy here we go actual somethin' " with Hayes. I'm very glad the poor dear actually got a little... something. :wiggles eyebrows:

This is exactly the kind of relationship I can see these two developing. I don't think they'll ever be best friends, or even friends, but they can tolerate and respect each other. Too bad the series didn't get to address this in more detail, but I think you did an excellent job conveying what might have happened between them.

Love that last line. LOL! And yeah, I can believe this kind of relationship between Reed and Hayes...a grudging respect, though they wouldn't be trading rings and flowers anytime soon.
