I really liked this. Very cute, and very in character.

Also, I love me a little Hoshiness. :-)

I was happy to be able to use Hoshi. She doesn't get enough play time.

Ha! I thought I remembered the line about hallucinating taxi cabs from somewhere. Very nice story, and I enjoyed the banter between Trip and Hoshi.

Very nice. I like the title, and the line you included from the contest ^^.

I liked your explanation for Malcolm's eating habits. Makes perfect sense, and he sort of took the wind out of their sails when they were all ready to tease him.

Thanks for the story!

I'm glad you liked the title! I was actually worried about the title, which seems funny, when there's so much to worry about when posting a story, but it's true.

Oooh I really liked what you did with the prompt(s). I think you worked in just about everything from both of them. It wasn't what I was expecting, but then that's the fun of ficathon - seeing what people do with what you asked for. I liked the implication that Malcolm couldn't make up his mind between Trip and Hoshi too. Now there's a plotbunny!

I am so glad you liked it. And I put that reference in just for you.

Hee hee! The bits between Trip and Hoshi were great as was the explanation behind the whole 'same 3 meals' thing that went on. Brilliant fic :D

I got that from my own experience when I went on exchange to a university in Illinois. I remember my Japanese roommate and I both staring at the offerings behind the counter in the dining hall, having no idea what it was they were serving. Even after I asked, I didn't know what it was. We neither of us ate it.

I think I ate rice every meal for that entire term.
