How to spend a weekend of Total Fire Ban.
Since Saturday was going to reach 37 (99F to you Americans) I spent the morning going Op Shopping to get out and about before the day got too hot.
Going down into Ferntree Gully was slightly worrying, as the
smoke from the
fires was even thicker down the bottom of the hill.
So afterwards it was playing D&D at my place with some friends and the aircon going full power. (As much to clean the air and get rid of the smoke, as to keep it cool and pleasant inside while gaming).
Sunday was even
hotter, at 42 (108F for any Americans out there). Spent the morning with Carl trying to clean up a backyeard in time for his party.
Very hot. So by 11 it was retreat inside and have some friends over and just chat until the cool change arrived.
The possums were certainly restless that night, with me catching a couple having fun on the back lawn
but they must be hungry as they came to be looking for scraps (normally they wait until after Ive dropped things off in the compost). And for fellow Victorians, my lawn is still green!
and even the possum in the tree was restless
