Comet in the night

Received a phone call from my mother last night telling me how spectacular the comet was. So I drove down the hill a bit to a lookout that faced SW at about 9.30 (I get a good view of southern stars, but too many trees to see to the south-west) and looked. Best comet I can recall seeing.

i saw it as a dot in the sky :) it wasnt spectacular like that but i did see it through the city lights.
i remember moomintrolls from my childhood, how strange - i havent heard about it since then.

one of the advantages of living at the edge of the city, you can see the stars. As to the moomintrolls, I read them when I was a kid, and gave my niece (who lives in Sydney) a copy for her birthday a few years ago.

After the bushfires and the cloudy weather, last night was the first available night to see McNaught on the way out of the system.
