How cute! It may just be my perspective, but that dog looks six feet tall.

My cat is a New Orleanian. I should have brought her down and dressed her up. Er... on second thought... I guess there's a reason you don't see cats in parades.

There is- it was tried, but it was like herding cats!

We had the Krewe of Endymeow for a couple of years. As best I remember, the cats stayed in cages, which were decorated for the season. And it was held indoors (?).

I remember when Barkus was just a few hundred people on a Sunday - mostly gays/lesbians and their dogs. Now it's tens of thousands, and kids come from all over to show off their pets (all of which are pretty well-behaved; both the kids and the pets). The king and queen of Barkus are even taken to lunch at Galatoire's on the Friday before for bones served on bone china.

And it now raises beaucoup bucks for the Humane Society, which needs the money badly.
