At 6 am, walking my dog, I came across that clichéd conundrum and test of character: if you find a wallet on the street, actually bulging over with cash and credit cards, and no one is around (or awake) to see you, what do you do? What a good citizen! Actually, I would have done the same thing, sort of. I would have knocked on the door in hopes of a reward. :) Well, maybe I would have kept it until 10am and THEN knocked on the door. I hope no one took it off it's dooknob perch. They probably would not have minded being woken up by a lady bringing back a full wallet. Heck, it possibly could have been the wrong person at that address. I know my ID shows an old address and not my current one, though still in the same town. What if someone less honest than you walked by and saw the wallet on the door?

Props for you, though. I've always wanted to find a wallet and return it in a way where I knew the person found it, but I could retain anonymity. Just a smile and a nod and a slow retreat.

I love people with integrity. I saw a woman steal a set of the headphones that JetBlue sells for $1 this morning at Washington Dulles. For 20 minutes, I debated whether or not I should call her on it, then decided I didn't want to make a scene and didn't, but now, 16 hours later, it still makes me mad to think about it...
