Having gotten coaxed out of his near-catatonic state by Dean, John takes an opportunity when not everyone is listening to sneak over to Puck and, before he's lost the nerve, ask a question:

"Do you like guys and girls? I mean, are you bisexual?"

Oh, look, here comes someone now. Puck is all over this.

"Hey, man," he starts to say before John's question catches him up short. "Hell, no. I don't roll that way, man."

He's not knocking others who do roll that way. It's just not him. "What's this about anyway?" Sex ed is the goal here, but still, why not get the details from someone who apparently needs said education?

He glances back at Kurt, clearing his throat awkwardly. "Someone who knows and isn't afraid of it, I guess."

Seriously, John's beginning to wonder if Kurt's apparent fear is just a totally legitimate reaction. If people are getting hurt, maybe gay sex really should be illegal, geez!

Okay, so maybe this kid isn't as hopeless as he thought.

"Right." Now for the other thing. "Know anything else about what guys do?" This one requires more subtlety. Don't ask him why. It just does.

But whatever the case, a hint is in order, in case John really is that clueless. Said hint is Puck tapping his fingers on his ass. "Not all guys do it."

He has to include that disclaimer, in case the kid assumes every guy who has sex with another guy is doing that with them.

John blushes. He had an idea, but he's beginning to assume all his ideas are wrong.

"Is it like...like one of the guys is the girl?" Not exactly true but he...doesn't want to get into specifics and get laughed at.
