As Dave expects, John is the one to drag him up front as the first pair. Where the dark-haired teenager is enthusiastic, the blond is more laid-back about it, casually following him to center stage. At least this is a good distraction from the kid event thing.

"So, two of us are gonna do a round robin kinda thing with our song choice. Pretty sure we don't even need to state its name."

After that little introduction, the teen moves to turn on the stereo to play their background music.

John starts singing when it's his cue, his voice a little raspy and in the higher part of an alto/tenor range. Once he starts on "But when I awoke," Dave starts his part, an octave lower than his friend, but his voice is much clearer. The round goes on pretty well, but at the final chorus, the two merge their voices together, like they're trying to say, "See what those two could've had in the song?"

Then the song's over, and Dave's a bit surprised to see how much he enjoyed that.

{OOC: Here are the lyrics!!!}

John grins. He's pretty confident in his voice, but it's still kind of hard to do in front of so many people. It helps that their voices sound so good together. John's tempted to hug his friend after that emotional bros-at-a-distance song, but that'd probably be embarrassing, especially given what happened in his bed during the event.

Wow, that sounds really gross.

The point is, he's gonna give Dave a big best bro hug later. For now he just waves a little at the group and the comm.

"Thanks! Um. I guess we'll go sit down now."

Santana sits, watching, her elbow propped on her knee and her chin propped on her hand. She's tempted to apologize to any comm-watchers for starting with something so...safe and innocent.

I mean, really? That song?

But whatever, at least they didn't sound horrible. So she claps a few times when they're done.

"Cute," is all she says.

"Hear that, Egbert? Apparently you chose well," he comments as he goes to sit back down in the "audience."

Besides, he's saving his best songs for later.

Quinn had said she'd come to at least one meeting, she just happened to pick the one where people were supposed to be doing duets. She of course didn't have anything planned, or anyone to sing with - but that was fine with her, she was over the glee thing sort of.

She really has no idea why she's standing there, in the doorway, watching everyone else. The first song was...cute, but it was so very New Directions and it makes her scowl just a little.

She's dressed up a little, it's more an effort to show that she isn't the same Quinn anymore, that and well...she doesn't know.

Everyone looks like they're having fun, more fun than she is at least. Maybe if she's quiet enough she can still make an escape.

Santana looks over by chance, then does a double-take.

Oh, right. It was apparently Quinn's turn to play dress up.

Santana's just going to stick with her earlier resolution of pretending that event never happened, especially since it means she missed out on the chance to make fun of Quinn's new look.

And this is the only reason she leans over.

"Gonna bust out that rasp of yours today, Q?"

"Tempted," Quinn replies, looking at Santana. "But I'm down one and you don't want me ruining the theme do you?"

She's not going to mention the event either, not now anyways.

Part of her is hoping she won't have to sing, and the other part of her wants too. Why are glee feelings always so confusing?

"So pick a song and get someone to tag along and echo you," she says with a shrug. "I'm sure plenty of people would just leap at the chance to sway behind you and sing Evanescence or whatever dark and lonely stuff it is you're listening to these days."

Marceline doesn't see the broadcast, but she does hear the commotion coming from the music room. What's going on? Curious vampires must know! She floats her way on in examines the setup. And she has her bass on her, as always.

"Hey guys. What's shaking in here?"

ooc: [I hope this is okay! If anyone wants to have a duet with her on the fly that'd be cool too!]

Oh, hey... Puck thinks he remembers this chick. She's not the type to be forgotten quickly, anyway.

And if he's wrong, well, what difference does it make? So he goes up to her to say hi. "'Sup. Anyone tell you about a little thing called glee club?" He might have at one point, but he doesn't really remember, which is why he's asking.

"I think I've heard about it once or twice," she says, and begins to pluck at the strings on her bass, "I'm guessing you sing in this glee club? Since that's what the kidlets seem to be doing."

"Well, good, 'cause we've been trying to get new members." He keeps one eye on that bass of hers, wondering how good she is with it. "And yeah, I can sing. What about you?"

Okay people, this is the last performance. You've all been awesome! Or something. epiccombo November 19 2011, 07:06:05 UTC
After all the performances have gone down, Puck smirks in Santana's direction and winks at her before he walks up to the front of the room. "You ready to do this thing, Lopez?" He grins at the audience, completely confident that they're going to kick ass and give Dave and John a run for their money.

Santana grins back, and flips her hair over her shoulder, totally ready to show everyone what she and Puck can do. They put together some killer choreography, and the epic combination of their moves and their singing is like a recipe for total annihilation, glee club style.

So get ready for this hotness, everyone. This song is going to blow you all away.

[ooc: For the purposes of this tag, I'm godmoding Santana with Jaime's permission.]

It's really a mystery as to why they haven't done more duets, because they sound fantastic, they look fantastic, and did we mention they're fantastic? The dancing skirts the edge of PG13 a couple times (most notably on when she sings baby, rub me right), but come on. Sex sells, and they're good at it.

Santana, of course, adds a little more vocal stylizing than the original, because she was not about to just stand and sway for most of it. But he sounds good, he sounds hot, and he even gets the hardest part of the choreography right. And when Santana's big solo comes up, she kills it.

Like there was ever any doubt.

When they're done, Santana's smile is just a little more sincere and open than usual; she keeps forgetting how much she likes performing.

Now, class. Come and give them love.

Okay. Dave has to give them points for using a Maroon 5 song 'cause that band kicks serious ass.

He gives them their due applause. It's also getting his creative juices flowing in his brain. He might want to approach them for CD ideas closer to Christmas.

"Nice song choice," he tells them, "Definitely a good way to show off your ranges and choreography."

While the two of them are doing their thing, Puck is watching Santana. He isn't leering, he isn't checking out her boobs or her ass, but he's watching her. Whenever he can, he watches her move, mesmerized by her dancing, and he listens to her singing. Of course, he's watching where his own feet are going, because no way is he going to trip and screw the whole thing up. If he did, he knows Santana would let loose on him, and well, she gets freaking scary when she's like that ( ... )
