Alright you guys! Sign-ups are closed and we have our winners! They were all randomly selected with a name drawing program called The Hat.

What our lucky winners get to do is play a live-action game of chess! Each has been assigned a chess piece based on the order in which the randomizer listed them. The teams are as follows:

Black - Real Things
Pawns: Elaine Belloc, Poland, Yamamoto Takeshi, Seeu, Rachel Berry, Mitsuru Kirijo, Daniel, & Snowman
Rooks: Minato Arisato & Sollux Captor
Knights: Diamonds Droog & Dean Winchester
Bishops: James Potter & Hanna Marin
Queen: Shinjiro Aragaki
King: Finn Hudson

White - Mirrors
Pawns: mirror!Terezi Pyrope, mirror!Hibari Kyouya, mirror!Hichigo, mirror!Minato Arisato, mirror!Albert Wesker, mirror!Akihiko Sanada, mirror!John Egbert, & mirror!Kurt Hummel
Rooks: mirror!Mark Meltzer & mirror!Haru (Ki)
Knights: mirror!Benny Stango & mirror!Hanna Marin
Bishops: mirror!Spencer Hastings & mirror!Sofia Lamb
Queen: mirror!Sasagawa Ryohei
King: mirror!Orihara Izaya

Due to the capricious whim of Tweedledee and Tweedledum, and with some help from the Queen, these two teams will be duking it out on the chessboard hills under the direction of the twins. Each side will be promised a prize--ones the players are likely to care about--to be revealed when the game begins.

All other characters (mirrors included) will be invited to watch from some new, conveniently placed bleachers around the field of play.

The moves in the chess game have been mapped out, so muns whose characters are players will know exactly who will be fighting who and at what point in the game. Pieces can be captured by killing or incapacitating the opponent, and muns may have to get creative to make all of the moves work. Once a character is disabled, however that might happen, they disappear from the field.

For those characters on the field of play deaths do not count as mansion deaths. However, any death among spectators due to conflict in the stands will be counted as a mansion death.

Once the game is over, any remaining members of the losing team will vanish to wherever it is their captured teammates have disappeared to. Members of the winning team who were captured will be returned to the field and will receive their prize. What that is and how it will work will be announced after this first portion of the event is over.

Below is a list of all the moves taken throughout the game. Moves that result in captured pieces are in bold, red text. We've also made screen caps of all 99 moves of this chess game, using the default icons of each of the players. These are available here. From that page you can select individual moves or scroll through the whole game from beginning to end.

Use this post to plot for this portion of the event. Work out how the chess pieces will manage to capture each other, what will be going on in the stands, etc. As always, there is a Q&A thread where you can ask us questions.

The NPC posts for the event will go up on Friday of this week. The game actually takes place on Monday, June 27, but because we know it will take some time to thread all of this, the log for the chess game will be posted on Friday, June 24, shortly after the NPCs have posted. This means everyone can feel free to post during the weekend either in reaction to the NPC announcement or about unrelated things.
