Not sure I've got this right, so... Does a wolf actually need some sort of motivation and/or a sufficiently homicidal personality or does the hypnosis aspect take care of that, as in 'no matter who they are, they're convinced that killing everyone is the right thing to do'?

To be honest, that will depend on the player. A motivation would help (but isn't entirely necessary) and could be anything from deep seated insecurities, past injustices, or just "fml I'm having a bad day, let's kill people".

If you feel uncertain playing a character as a wolf because he/she doesn't have sufficient motivation to kill, then my suggestion would be not to volunteer that character. But if you don't feel like that will be a problem, go ahead!
