Waves

While on the train to school,
I was thinking...

As with all things new and desirable,
There'll be an initial excitement and euphoria
Fuelling the engagement or indulgence.
It wouldn't be before long that one loses such enthusiasm (quite possibly so) -
Where the entity, be it an object (such as your new bag or electronic device)
Or a person,

some entities stay close to the heart even though it seems as if they have taken a back seat, like how some people refuse to throw certain things away, or some people have toys to accompany them to sleep every night. It works in a wierd way, I guess, when something isn't new anymore... But some things... Are appreciated more with time (and experiences).

i feel you too.

took me sometime
to learn to treasure
what has slipped into the realm of ephemerality

knowing that whatever, and whoever is to enter my life again, might well slip out of my hands

and with that, bracing myself forever in a constant state of liminality

however tough it might seem, it is better than to have not experienced any(thing worth treasuring) at all.
