Otis on the shore

A little over a month ago, I noticed that Otis had a couple hard lumps on the right side of his neck, tucked up near his jaw where they were hard to detect. Otis was slowing down, faster than Maesi at least, and I was thinking this might be his year, but...not like this. And not this quickly.

I followed some of this on Instagram, but it was nice, if heart-wrenching, to read this account in all its eloquent detail. You are lucky to have had such a wonderful companion for so long.
