Damn.

Obviously, I never knew the man, but I was a huge fan of his Spiderman work, and there was a lot of fun in it. I was really excited when I found out that he had an LJ.

Well...shit. That's all I got.

Yeah, I caught this from some Deviant Art journals and then raced over to Newsarama.
I'd never met the guy, but I've been following his work for a while now.

Completely floored me when I read about it.
He died so young and so inexplicably.
It's really hard to think about it.

I never knew it was him, but I loved the Impulse character, and loved his art style.

I'm so sorry, sweetie.

Scott Kurtz' eulogy broke me. If you haven't read it, and you're up for it, it's on the main page of www.pvponline.com.

Bad idea to read it at work. Yeah, so I'm at The Evil Empire of CMG, and crying at my desk.

Indeed. I was just sitting at home reading it and I couldn't fight back the tears.

I read it online yesterday morning and just started crying. A few minutes later when Josh called to answer my question about hours at the store I told him what had happened and barely kept the tears in.

It's not often so many people hear of a famous person's death and cry. Most think "Wow...that really sucks, my sympathies to the family". I guess it shows that Mike Wieringo was clearly an amazing person.
