Oh lord.

Now, granted, I haven't purchased a copy of Wizard Magazine in ...man, at least 5 years and even then I think it was because of a showcase on John Cassady or somebody whose work I liked, must have been nearly 10 years ago when I bought the magazine because it was Wizard. Mostly I haven't followed it because it really is a fluff publication

I've had the same thing happen to me dozens of times. Girl at con = somebody's girlfriend or somebody's model.
