It’s one of those rare days when EXO-M has returned from China. Unfortunately, Seoul is hit with a thunderstorm that very night, so moments for celebration are short. Lu Han is rolling on his bed, unable to sleep. It’s not that he’s frightened or anything, but the constant flashes of light irritate him to no end.
It seems that EXO’s maknae has a slightly similar problem.
“Hyung?” Se Hun whispers, quietly opening the door. “Are you awake?”
“Yes,” Lu Han mumbles, pushing himself up. “Do you need something?”
“Um,” Se Hun awkwardly stutters. Lu Han notices that the younger man has brought his pillow with him. He arches a brow. “I was just wondering if I could, you know, stay here with you? Not because I’m afraid-” A sudden boom of thunder sends Se Hun flying towards the bed. “...Hyung, I’m scared.”
Lu Han sighs, lifting a corner of his blanket. “Crawl in.” Se Hun complies immediately, just as the room is lit up again. “You know, I have one of the room with windows. Maybe it would’ve been better if you slept in Joonmyun’s.”
“Do you want me to leave?” Se Hun asks.
“No!” Lu Han says, perhaps a little too quickly. “I’m just saying.”
“Anyway, um, Yi Xing hyung is already in there,” Se Hun winces, slightly embarrassed.
“Oh,” Lu Han comments. “Oh. What am I? Second choice?”
“It’s just that when there’s a storm, I normally go to Joonmyun hyung, except you’re here now, so obviously I want to be with you.”
“And because Yi Xing took your spot.”
“...Maybe.”
Lu Han curls an arm lazily around Se Hun’s waist. “Listen, Oh Mija. I am no one’s, I repeat, no one’s second choice. Understood?”
“Yes, hyung,” Se Hun says a little shakily.
“Good,” Lu Han pats the maknae’s butt, “so next time come to me first or don’t come at all.”
Before the other can reply, there’s another roar of thunder and Se Hun is left desperately clutching at the older. Lu Han’s hand slips under Se Hun’s shirt as he rubs smooth circles on his boyfriend’s bare back. Se Hun relaxes immediately, head nuzzling into Lu Han’s neck as he inhales the other’s sweet scent.
“Hyung?” Se Hun murmurs later, eyes beginning to drop.
“Hm?” Lu Han replies.
“I love you.”
Lu Han’s heart fills with affection for the younger. “I love you too,” he whispers softly.
The two of them fall asleep like that, limbs intertwined together.
In the morning, Lu Han wakes up to a headful of brown hair. Se Hun is already awake and peering up at the older. The way the sunlight hits Se Hun’s milky white skin is really alluring, Lu Han thinks as he places a kiss to the maknae’s waiting lips.
“What are you doing up already?” Lu Han questions, eyes blinking away sleepiness.
“The end of the storm was loud,” Se Hun admits, “then it got really light out, and you’re just too beautiful when you’re asleep.” He takes a breath and continues, “not to say you’re not beautiful when you’re awake too. You’re beautiful all the time, hyung.”
For a moment, Lu Han is left speechless. Of course, he’s been told he was beautiful before, but it’s rare to receive compliments of that sort from Se Hun. The child struggles with expressing his feelings, so Lu Han truly appreciates the effort it takes for the maknae to say those words.
“You are too precious,” Lu Han cries, rolling onto the younger. “Let hyung love you.” He peppers Se Hun’s face and neck with butterfly kisses. They’re soft and warm, just like the weather outside.
Eventually their lips meet in a sweet embrace. The pair seem to melt within each other, two halves of the perfect whole. When they break apart for some much needed oxygen, Se Hun takes his lover’s hand into his own, placing a light kiss upon it.
“Hey, hyung?”
“Yeah?”
“I really do love you.”
“I know. I really do love you too.”
