On the train, which has just started to shudder & move, heading away from Boston. I’m listening to Rent, which always does something special for me. Something in me responds strongly to the voices of characters who realize the transience of life while groping in the dark for light.

Oddly, I've never seen RENT, though I know many people who have. It really seems to touch them in a uniquely special way that transcends just being a musical.

Do I wish that I could be raw? Yes. I lived that way for quite sometimes in my 20s. But I don't want to pay the price that goes with living like that ever again.
