Goodwill Towards Fellow Men

Dec 23, 2007 18:55

I have the attention span of a gnat. I was happily looking around for something to read, content in the knowledge that part 3 of TTDUP was half-written, and then I came across the Carol Of The Bells challenge at doumekiwatanuki comm and remembered that I had been meaning to try Dou/Wata for a while. And I failed at the prompt, too. Kind of. *hangs head in ( Read more... )

No, no-- we wouldn't want poor Watanuki to have a stroke, now would we? Doumeki would have to carry him all the way back to the shop... :) Or maybe that's a bad example.

The song is generally about silver bells bringing Christmas cheer to all and sundry, so yes, the bell has significance.

Thanks, and hope you have a merry Christmas, too!

No, no you didn't fail! This is excellent and wonderful use of the prompt. I loved that bit about Doumeki not feeling the results of the bell, and the implications of what Watanuki almost did. Thanks for entering!

Thank you! The one word "cheer" just jumped out at me from the lyrics, and I ran with that.

Thanks for putting up the challenge; it's always nice to have something to cling to like a drowning sailor work from when you're starting a new fandom. (I've kind of been stalking at your journal, by the way, and all of your icons are ♥.)

:D That's what prompts are for. Inspiration. Taking things and running with 'em is what Christmas fandom is all about.

You're welcome (though it was entirely in self-interest, I assure you), and I can understand that very easily. I only a few months ago (has it been six already?) got into the fandom, and it was hard to think of something to write. And have you? Thanks. Why do I have so many stalkers? All of a sudden all these people are appearing whom I've never met in my life and telling me they love my stuff and have been lurking around my journal for ages. Whiskey tango foxtrot?!

Taking things and running with them is what life is all about. Not that I ever take presents-- like, say, a certain set of novels I got this morning-- and then neglect my family for the rest of the holiday to read them. No, of course not. *shifty eyes*

... You know, it's really your own fault for writing so well. Er, I mean, it's like some sort of law of nature. And we go away if you write more fic. Really, we do.

“… I’m going to go make dinner now,” Watanuki enunciated carefully. “And not think about what you just said ever, ever, ever again. And if I burn anything because you distracted me with your stupid-stupids, then you are going to have to eat it.”

AHAHAHAH! Line made of complete win! XDD

Oh Yuko, you are so sly. ^.~

Because Watanuki would totally get revenge through sub-par cooking. And he would think that it worked, too. (Then again, with Yuuko, he might be right...)

She is. In the best way possible.

AHAHAHAHA. this was brilliant! the priest, especially, had me in fits of laughter. After he left and was standing in the back of pews, the man shook his head. “God works in mysterious ways,” he told himself firmly and the "she's a wonderful woman", lgjdlkfjld. 8'D

so good! :D

I love taking non-insane OCs and forcing them to have their brains broken by interact with fandom. It's the only kind of OC I know how to do, really.

Thanks!
