Phoebe? Uni? Driving? She's been doing that growing up thing again when I wasn't looking, hasn't she? Where, and what subject? And what's this about working legs?
Just wandered over to the Winchester Uni website and I can see a number of courses that might fit that description. Most of them make me think "ooh, wonder if they take mature students who want to do it remotely and part-time?" All a good area to be moving into, it's where things are going.
Sounds like good scores from college! Still, the time out in the real world and a real job will have been good for her. Hitting uni and hitting adult responsibilities at the same time is often a bad idea, and she'll be much better able to cope than some of her fellow students.
I could probably find her contacts not much above her own age who have done film-related degrees (though less IT) and are now out in the real world (in fact you know one of them - Kethry?). If she heads towards the 3D printing side that was mentioned on one of those courses, I have a nephew who's very into it (degree in mechanical engineering). But see what she has a use/need for. She's got an entire university to draw on, after all.
Yeah, in Real Life she is more together than Catherine, but that is another matter. She had what was supposed to be a part time job with Savers until last weekend, which was effected by Covid - it counted as 'essential' and she was working mainly full time for a while, filling in for people who were falling ill. But she can manage her time and her finances well, so that is one less worry for us.
I'm not sure how she will get on with her housemates - she applied late for housing, and has ended in a converted house, but all I know is from a quick phone call to let me know it was sorted. I'll know more soon.
I can't wrap my head around the fact that the children have grown so fast. I seems like only yesterday when you and I first met on LJ. Please tell the kids and Brian that I send my love and be sure to keep some for yourself.
